The Erdős–Bacon number is a (ridiculous) measure of the small world phenomenon (SWP). It combines the two primary SWP measures of academia and cinema. The former calculates the collaborative distance from Hungarian mathematician Paul Erdős, while the latter considers the distance from Kevin Bacon in terms of roles in movies.
